These two very interesting places are located close to each other.
Wieliczka Salt Mine is a world-class historical monument and as such is inscribed in UNESCO’s First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. Each year over a million tourists from around the world visit it.
John Paul II’s Family House is now a museum dedicated to the great man’s life and work. Comprising the original three rooms that made up the Wojtyla’s apartment as well as an extension, the items on display include relics from John Paul II’s life, countless photographs, and a wooden crib inside the room he was born in. Next to the house stands Virgin Mary’s Offertory Minor Basilica.
