DURATION: roundtrip from Krakow ~3.5-4h
An amazing Wieliczka Salt Mine is located on the outskirts of Krakow. Salt has been mined here since the Middle Ages. The tour explains why salt was important in those days and how it helped to create great wealth and helped in the development and growth of Krakow.
In addition to the exhibits depicting how the salt was mined, the tour takes the visitor through great caverns, and salt lakes and past the amazing artworks and sculptures to the breathtaking Kinga Chapel.
This UNESCO World Heritage site is toured with a guide. You will descend over 800 steps to a depth of 135m before returning to the surface
The trip lasts for 4 hours, and the tour itself takes just over 2 hours. There are a lot of steps to descend, the tour is not suitable for buggies. If any member of your group has limited mobility please let us know before booking tickets
